Overview
Learning vocabulary from real reading breaks down at the copy-paste step: switching to Anki, creating a note, typing the word, looking up a translation and a definition. highlight2anki removes it — select a word, right click, "Ajouter à Anki", and the card is created with the translation (DeepL), the French definition (Wiktionnaire) and the surrounding sentence as context.
A three-step wizard on first launch checks the DeepL key, picks the deck and note type, and maps the four fields, so the extension adapts to an existing Anki setup rather than imposing one.
Failures never lose a card: with Anki closed the note is queued locally and replayed at the next Chrome start, and a missing translation or definition just leaves that field empty instead of aborting the note.
